7 Reasons To Get To The Giants Game On Saturday!

Saturday night sees the Stena Line Belfast Giants take on the Sheffield Steelers, face-off 7pm at The SSE Arena, Belfast. The Giants will then travel to England on Sunday for an Elite League clash against the Manchester Storm.

Tickets for Saturday are now on sale from the Arena Box Office either in person or by phoning 028 9073 9074 and online through Ticketmaster by clicking here.

Here are your 7 reasons to get to Saturday’s big game…

1) The Long Wait Is Over

The last Belfast Giants home game was a 3-2 win over the Cardiff Devils on Saturday 12th November. That means that by the time the puck drops on Saturday it will pretty much have been one month since Giants hockey was in town. Get your hockey fix this Saturday at The SSE Arena!

2) Teddy Bear Toss

One of our favourite night’s of the year – Saturday night’s game is the annual Giants Teddy Bear Toss and the way it works is simple! Bring a brand new stuffed toy and please make sure you wrap it in a clear plastic bag for hygiene purposes. When the Giants score their first goal, you throw the stuffed toy onto the ice along with a few thousand other toys!

The Giants players will deliver the toys to children at various hospitals throughout Belfast as well as to the Cash for Kids/Cool FM Mission Christmas appeal.

3) Bring On The Champions

Saturday night’s opponents, the Sheffield Steelers, are back-to-back Elite League champions following their title wins in 2014/15 and 2015/16. If that does not make Saturday’s game big enough, then take a look at the standings – a win would see the Giants overtake Sheffield and move into second place. Bring on the Steelers!

4) GIANT Prizes On Offer

At Saturday’s game – you could win some fantastic prizes with our 50/50, Shirt Off The Back and Chuck-A-Puck competitions!

50/50: You can win a GIANT cash prize this Saturday & last game, we gave away £1,104 to the winner. Tickets for 50/50 are £1 each, 5 for £3, 10 for £5, 30 for £10 and on sale throughout the Arena’s concourse. And remember – the more you buy, the more GIANT the prize!

Shirt Off The Back: Win your very own Belfast Giants game worn jersey! The winner gets presented with their very own game worn jersey..literally from the back of the Giants player! Even better – if you win, you will get to choose the player’s jersey that you want to take home. Our Shirt off the Back raffle tickets are on sale throughout the Arena from 6pm when the doors open on Saturday for £1 each, 5 for £3, 10 for £5 or 30 for £10. Good Luck!

5) USA Sports Are In Town

Our friends from USAsports will be with us on ‘The Bridge’ in the Main Arena from doors open at 6pm, until the end of the 2nd period break, with their specialist NHL Pop Up Shop! USA sports will be bringing a new range of 100% genuine and authentic NHL CCM and Reebok merchandise including Jerseys, Hoods, T-Shirts, Caps, Knits and much more.

USAsports have a new range of product that will be made available to Giants supporters for this first time. If you’re an NHL fan make sure you visit USAsports on Saturday for some Christmas Shopping! 101216-belfast-giants-pop-up

6. Boojum Dance Cam

With no ice-hockey in Belfast for almost one month that also means you have been starved of game night action! Boojum Dance Cam will return on Saturday night during the second intermission – so you have got a few days to get those dance moves perfected in time for the bright lights of the Arena!
