The Stena Line Belfast Giants will be looking to return to winning ways this weekend following Sunday’s defeat in Fife. Colin Shields, the Giants all time leading points scorer, spoke of his and his teammates frustration with the loss and the team’s determination to bounce back on Friday and Saturday at home against the Cardiff Devils,
“We got away from what had been making us successful – playing as a team. We know we are not going to win every game every season – though the loss hurt a lot of guys. Everyone on the team is upset about Sunday’s performance and we are looking to bounce back hard this weekend.”
Shields already has two Elite League titles on his resumé and knows what it takes in order to deliver success in Belfast. With two big games this weekend at The SSE Arena, Belfast and two more at the last weekend of the season vs Cardiff, the Giants and Team GB forward is focused on helping the team pick up as many points as possible against the Elite League leaders,
“Last weekend did not go as planned. We are right back to work this week and focused on the task at hand. If we want to win the league then we are going to have to play well against Cardiff and try to take maximum points as many times as we can – starting this week with two big games at home.”
Tickets are on sale now for both Friday’s and Saturday’s games against the Cardiff Devils and are available online via Ticketmaster, all Ticketmaster Outlets, the Arena Box Office in person or over the phone by calling 028 9073 9074.
