The Stena Line Belfast Giants are pleased to announce the return of Mark Garside for the 2017/18 Elite League season. The Defenceman will take to the ice at The SSE Arena, Belfast for an eighth season in-a-row.
Mark Garside, 28 years old from East Kilbride in Scotland, first joined the Giants back in 2010 after four years spent with the Edinburgh Capitals.
During his time in Belfast, Garside has helped the organisation win two league championships, in the 2011/12 and 2013/14 seasons, and has posted 56 goals as well as 139 assists, good for 195 points in 418 games played.
Garside has been a regular in the Team GB national side for seven straight seasons and clinched Gold in the recent World Championship hosted in Belfast, their first in 24 years.
Head Coach Adam Keefe on the signing of Mark Garside:
“I am excited about keeping Mark in Belfast and I know our fans will be too. He works very hard for the team and can play in any situation.”
“Most importantly, Mark knows how to win with two league titles in Belfast as well as the recent World Championship gold and he will play a key part in our chase for silverware in the 2017/18 season.”
