A Giant 20 Years of Ice Hockey in Belfast
On this day 20 years ago, something very special happened in Belfast.
The Giants’ first home game at the SSE Arena (formerly the Odyssey Arena) was a momentous occasion for this club but also for Belfast.
It was a night to remember and one many of us will never forget. It began a ripple effect that created an army of fans and countless heroes on and off the ice. Since that day, we have cheered and roared together, laughed together, cried together, created unforgettable memories, celebrated Championships and helped transform this city beyond our wildest dreams.
What a ride it’s been. Twenty years on, the Teal Army are stronger than ever and ice hockey has grown to become the biggest indoor spectator sport in Northern Ireland.
We can’t wait to see you back in the SSE Arena. Here’s to the next 20 years!
