Belfast Giants Confirm Full 2023/24 Roster
The Stena Line Belfast Giants are proud to confirm their full roster for the upcoming 2023/24 season.
Featuring a number of instrumental returning players from the Giants’ 2022/23 treble-winning roster, including Tyler Beskorowany, Ben Lake, Ciaran Long, and Mark Cooper, and a raft of highly anticipated new signings, the 2023/24 squad contains an exciting combination of youth and experience, as the club prepares to defend its Elite League, Elite League Playoff, and Challenge Cup titles.
Steve Thornton, group head of commercial and hockey at The Odyssey Trust, said: “We’re incredibly happy with how the roster has shaped up after a long summer of recruiting. We really like the way we look on paper and feel that we have a good core of returning players, mixed in with some talented new arrivals. Our team’s speed is something that has stood out for me so far during training camp, and we’re very much looking forward to our first pre-season game on home ice against Cardiff Devils this weekend.”
After Champions Hockey League fixtures against Lukko Rauma, Tappara Tampere, HC Innsbruck, and HC Bolzano, the Giants begin the first of their three title defences at home to Dundee Stars in a Challenge Cup group game on Friday 22 September 2023. The Giants’ opening Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) fixture pits the men in teal away from home against last season’s league runners-up, Guildford Flames on Friday 8 October 2023, before making the journey to Wales to take on the defeated 2022/23 EIHL playoff finalists, Cardiff Devils the following day.
Adam Keefe, head coach of the Belfast Giants, commented: “After the success of last season, we’ve had a well-deserved rest over the summer, but now we’re ready to get back to work. The 2023/24 campaign is shaping up to be incredibly competitive – across both the Elite League and Champions Hockey League, and we’re taking nothing for granted. Last season was a benchmark for what we want to achieve and where we want to be as a team moving forwards, and I’m confident that our roster has the skill, attitude, and ambition to achieve great things, this season and beyond.”
The Belfast Giants start their pre-season campaign in home action against Cardiff Devils on Friday 25 August 2023 at The SSE Arena, Belfast. Tickets are available to purchase here.
