Commenting on the announcement, Steve Thornton, head of hockey for the Belfast Giants said: “We know these postponements will be very disappointing but the health and wellbeing of our players, staff and fans must come first. We are still working towards having the team back on the ice for our festive home fixtures on Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve and will update in due course.”
The planned Twilight Skate event, which was due to take place after the Giants game on Wednesday 22 December has been cancelled. All ticket holders will be refunded. For those still wanting to skate at the home of the Belfast Giants this winter, there is availability for many of the remaining Winter Skate sessions, which take place at The SSE Arena between 23 December and 4 January.
