Join us for A GIANT Conversation on Dementia
The Stena Line Belfast Giants are proud to announce that the final home game of the regular season, against the Sheffield Steelers on Saturday 6 April, will be dedicated to dementia awareness and the invaluable work one of the club’s chosen charities for 2023/24 season, the Alzheimer’s Society.
Comprised of people living with dementia, carers, trusted experts, campaigners, researchers, and clinicians, the Alzheimer’s Society has been a powerful force for change, improving the lives of people living with dementia for over 40 years.
With an estimated 900,000 people living with dementia in the UK alone, the Alzheimer’s Society offer a range of support options, including a dedicated support phoneline, an online community forum, information from expert dementia advisers, and practical guidance for people navigating life with dementia.
The Alzheimer’s Society also undertake crucial fundraising to help change the landscape of dementia in the future, with the charity funding over 600 research projects to find the best ways to get early diagnosis, innovate care, and develop targeted treatments.
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED
Grab your tickets for night two of our home double-header against the Sheffield Steelers on Saturday 6 April, and head to The Bridge to find out more about the work of the Alzheimer’s Society. There will be bucket collections taking place on the night, as well as plenty of QR codes to scan throughout The SSE Arena, Belfast to read more about the charity’s work and make a donation.
On the night, there will also be a special Shirt off the Back raffle, where you could be in with a chance of winning an exclusive Alzheimer’s Society jersey from the final home league game of the season. Shirt Off the Back tickets can be purchased from dedicated sellers around the concourse from doors opening on game day, with all profits being donated to the Alzheimer’s Society.
