Annual Teddy Toss is Back
The countdown to the festive season is officially on, and so is the countdown to our annual GIANT Teddy Toss game!
On Sunday 15 December, your Belfast Giants will face the Sheffield Steelers in an Elite League clash at The SSE Arena, Belfast. On the night, our annual Teddy Toss will take place and give members of the Teal Army the chance to support local families, the Cash for Kids Christmas Mission appeal, and those spending time in hospital this Christmas.
During the game, after the Giants score their first goal of the night, fans will be prompted to throw as many teddies and stuffed toys onto the ice as possible which will be collected as donations for those in need this festive season.
Over the weeks that follow, Giants players will deliver all of your generously donated toys to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Ulster Hospital, Blossom Children and Young People Centre, Causeway Hospital, and Cash for Kids Change Hospitals to reflect Laura’s email if haven’t already.
If you’re planning to toss a teddy, here’s what you need to know:
- Although named Teddy Toss, we will accept any soft toys, not just bears!
- Please ensure that your soft toy is sealed in a clean plastic bag.
- Ideally, soft toys should be suitable for children from birth upwards (please check the label in advance).
- All soft toys should be brand-new, with the labels left on.
- Remember, as soon as the Giants score their first goal, it’s over to you to throw your soft toys onto the ice, not before that!
Cash for Kids
You can also donate gifts to the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal on the night at the drop-off station by Door 1. Your gifts will go to families in need of a helping hand this Christmas. Find out more about how your gift donations can make an impact here.
