Kendall McFaull, a 26 year old with a right shot, also spent five years in Saskatchewan and was drafted in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, 155th overall, in the sixth round by the former Atlanta Thrashers, now Winnipeg Jets.

The 6’3” defenceman posted 13 goals and 26 assists, good for 39 points in 139 games. The 2017/18 season saw McFaull named to the CIS West Second All-Star team for a second consecutive season and he was awarded the Dr. Randy Gregg Award for the CIS ‘Outstanding Student Athlete’.

Prior to his time in Saskatchewan, McFaull spent five years with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL with two years as Assistant Captain and then Captained the side in his final year before being called up to the AHL’s Oklahoma City Barons.

The #27 jersey will be worn during the 2018/19 season by Kendall McFaull in honour of Troy Gasper, the father of three who was killed in a crash in Canada. McFaull originally selected #2, however thanks to Paxton Schulte’s magnificent gesture – the Giants, McFaull and Schulte have agreed to honour Gasper with the #27 coming out of retirement for one season.

Gasper, 26, his wife Carissa, 28, and their three children aged six, four and two, were killed in a tragic car crash. Gasper played two seasons with the Humboldt Broncos from 2009 to 2011, where he was a teammate of Josh Roach, another current Giant.

The famous #27 jersey was retired by the Giants organisation in 2004 in honour of Paxton Schulte’s outstanding service to the organisation.
