Biography
Belfast-born defenceman Kell Beattie has re-signed for the 2024/25 season, on a two-way contract with National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) side Solway Sharks.
A product of the Junior Belfast Giants setup, the upcoming 2024/25 campaign will mark Belfast-born Beattie’s fourth two-way season with the Giants and Sharks, having initially joined the Dumfries-based side ahead of the 2021/22 season. Last season, 20-year-old Beattie notched 15 total points in 46 games for the Sharks and was named as the club’s young player of the year.
Beattie featured during the Giants’ treble-winning 2022/23 season, playing a total of 14 games across both the Elite League and Challenge Cup. The up-and-coming defenceman was also named in the Belfast Giants All Stars roster that took on Ukrainian National Championship side Dnipro Kherson in a charity game at The SSE Arena, Belfast in April 2023.
