Volunteering is a great way to get involved with the Giants.
A dedicated and diverse group of volunteers are involved in every aspect of a night at the SSE Arena. From scoring the games to filling water bottles, from helping to sell 50:50 raffle tickets to cheerleading!
The Belfast Giants are always looking passionate, committed people to add to our Giants Crew. Our aim is to provide the best game night experience possible for our players and fans and in order to do this we are reliant on a team of volunteers and constantly on the look out for the right people to add to this already fantastic corps or people.
Currently we have opportunities in the following positions and are welcoming applications.
Scorekeeping & Live Scoring
The person for this role will have a fair knowledge of the sport and previous experience is preferred. This person would be based in the timekeepers box and assist with populating the official game sheet as well as live scoring on the EIHL website.
The position of Operations Assistant is a diverse one and requires someone passionate about the Giants who is willing to give anything a go. This person would work alongside the Operations Manager to help deliver a successful and enjoyable game night experience. The role involves setting up, operating and facilitating pre game and intermission entertainment as well as the setup and take down of the various sale stands around the arena.
50:50, Shirt Off The Back & Programme Sellers
Our popular 50/50 and SOTB raffles are sold by a bubbly and friendly crew of volunteers who are often the first people our fans see when they enter the SSE Arena. First impressions are everything so we are wanting to add happy, customer facing people to represent the Giants brand and encourage participation in our game night raffles.
We are looking for people willing to sell throughout the game. We need happy smiling people, not afraid to be vocal, with a passion for helping the Giants succeed on and off the ice.
We have an opportunity for the right person to be involved in helping promote our sponsors brands and enhancing fans game night experience by volunteering as a mascot. The right person for this role would be energetic, bubbly and be willing to engage with fans. Performing or dance experience is desirable however not essential.
How To Apply
For all of the above positions we ask that you submit your contact details and a short personal statement via email to firstname.lastname@example.org Please also detail which position you are interested in and what you feel you can bring to the team.
All applications will be considered and if required shortlisted, with the successful applicants being contacted in due course. Successful applicants will need to consent and adhere to the Belfast Giants volunteer policies and code of behaviour.
All fans are welcome to join in Boomerang Corner. Named after a long time Giants fan Stewart Boone, the north-west block of the arena is kept unreserved and off sale where possible and has become home to a large number of passionate and noisy Giants fans. Of course we appreciate the support, noisy or otherwise, of all Giants fans!
